Haryana government is seriously considering the proposal to introduce a refresher course for doctors and para-medical staff so as to acquaint them with latest information. This was stated by Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij in a meeting with office bearers of Nursing Staff Association on Thursday.
Vij said that state government would soon formulate a policy for higher education of serving nurses and under the same policy, a nursing college would be set up at Nalhar in district Mewat. Vij added that the setting up of a college for nurses would help in checking the problem of shortage of nursing staff.
Apart from constructing quarters in all hospitals, crèches would also be set up to facilitate the nursing staff in performing their duty, Vij said. A gradation list of nurses would be prepared for their timely promotion. He said that software was being prepared for the transfer of doctors, para-medical staff and other staff and it would soon be available. Also, another software for roster duty of nursing staff was being prepared. There would be a dress code for all categories of employees.
The state government has, on the demand of employees’ associations, not only given relaxation in age to contractual employees, but has also decided to give maximum of eight marks on the basis of their length of experience. He said that the vacant posts of nursing sister and matron would soon be filled up.
