The mortal remains of Lance Naik Om Parkash , who laid down his life while fighting with the terrorists during the fierce encounter that took place at Pampore on the outskirts of Srinagar on Sunday, reached Chandigarh on Moday.
The braveheart was killed along with two other officers- Capt. Pawan Kumar and Captain Tusahar Mahajan. The mortal remains of the martyr belonging to Shimla were flown to the 12 Wing Air Force Station in an aircraft from where these were airlifted to Chail (HP) in a helicopter amidst a gathering of Army and Air Force officers and soldiers. Brigadier (GSIW) Hitesh Kohli paid floral tribute to the slain soldier by laying wreath at the coffin carrying the mortal remains.
Besides, Air Commodore A. Saklani, Air Officer Commanding 12 Wing Air Force Station also paid tributes to the soldier by laying wreath.
The sacrifice of Capt. Pawan Kumar and Capt. Tushar Mahajan was also remembered with heavy hearts by all present on the somber occasion. Capt. Akash Pawar, Capt, Sudhanshu Pani, Capt. Harshit and Capt. A. Baghel, the course mates of Capt. Pawan Kumar at different levels shared their fond memories of the braveheart with tearful eyes.
