Le-Corbusier Center theft- police arrests three and recovers heritage furniture

Nearly four months after the reported theft of heritage tables and chairs from Le-Corbusier Center, Chandigarh police have claimed to have cracked the case. The theft stated to have been committed on night intervening 23 and 24 of September, 2015 had been reported to police on October 3, 2015.

Chandigarh police stated that during the course of investigation, on the lead of a secret information, police arrested three ladies named Rekha, Seema and Hasheena all residents of areas near Dainik Bhaskar Colony in sector 25, Chandigarh and recovered the stolen heritage property from their possession. The value of said furniture is stated to be in crores in the international market.

During the interrogation of accused persons disclosed that they had stolen the said furniture from Le- Corbusier Center in sector-19, Chandigarh. They tried to sell the said furniture. But the matter had been highlighted in the newspapers and media, they could not succeed in selling the same

The accused were produced before the Duty Magistrate and remanded upto February 17, 2016.
