An example of having the ‘insensitive’ attitude of Haryana Police towards complainants has once again come to light. The incident pertains to Rewari and the allegation is that despite a proper complaint, the police did not even bother to register the scase of murder of complainant’s son for over three years. The Haryana Lokayukta Justice (Retd.) Pritam Pal has now handed over the investigation of the case to State Crime Branch.

This seems yet another case where having the slogan of ‘Safety, Security and Cooperation’, the Haryana police have once again lived up to its reputation – of being one of the most insensitive police force in the country.

Rajnath Bhargav, a resident of Rewari had approached Haryana Lokayukta with a complaint against police officials of police station Dharuhera. Bhargav had stated that his son Toshant had gone missing on July 22, 2012. A DDR was lodged in this regard on same day in police station Rewari and Bhargav gave specific names of the persons, he doubted could be involved in the his son’s going missing.

Next day, the body was recovered from the pond of village Jonawas in jurisdiction of police station, Dharuhera. The police registered a DDR but nothing was done to investigate the matter or arrest the accused.

During the hearing before Lokayukta, Daruhera police ASI Sunder Pal informed that no FIR had been lodged in the case so far.

The Lokayukta, after hearing Sunder Pal and other concerned observed that the police did not seem to have acted. He has asked Haryana DGP to register the case and hand over the investigation to State Crime Branch, so that justice could be done in the matter.
