Harpreet Rajan Brar was declared as reelected as president of Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association on Friday. Elected for consecutive second term, Brar defeated his nearest rival, senior advocate V.K.Jain by whooping margin of 1173 votes.
Total 3,736 advocates had exercised their right of vote during polling held on Thursday.
For the post of Vice president, Jagjot Singh Lalli won by defeating Puneeta Sethi by a margin of 661 votes. SPS Tinna won with a margin of 695 votes against Manish Kumar Singla for the post of secretary.
Deepshikha Arora was declared winner as joint secretary, by defeated Neetu Singh by a margin of 314 votes. As for the post of treasurer, Bhupinderbir Singh Randhawa defeated Shivoy Dhir by a margin of 1,280 votes.
Savita and Charanjit Kaur were elected woman members with 1,594 and 1,475 votes, respectively.
Brar said that this year, his team would focus on getting more chambers for the advocates and also to approach the Haryana and Punjab governments for housing for advocates.
