Gangster turned politician Rocky shot dead at Parwanoo

In a gangwar, Jaswinder Singh Rocky, a gangster turned politician, died after being shot at Parwanoo on Saturday morning. The incident took place near Timber Trail resort, Parwanoo.

According to Parwanoo police, members of rival gang fired at him while he was on his way back from Solan. The police said that the accused had been tailing Rockey’s Toyota Fortuner and fired at him from a close range.

Rocky was named as accused in ‘Dimpy murder case’ that took place at Sukhna lake in 2006. He was stated to have links with some prominent gangsters and patronage of some politicians from Utter Pradesh.

At one time, his name symbolized as terror. Later in 2012, he contest assembly elections from Fazilka as independent candidate but lost despite having good a good number of votes.

On Saturday, h was coming back from Solan in Fortuner with two other people while his two gunmen were in another car following him. Two persons fired at him. The bullet is stated to have hit on his head. His relative Parampal Pali, who was driving the vehicle and also sustained bullet injuries. Despite injuries, he kept on driving the vehicle and rushed it to ESI hospital where Rocky was declared dead.

The police said that assailants had been identified who were in a car while youths on a motorcycle picked up empty shells.

Police is stated to have registered a case against some persons belonging to Ferozepur.
