Chandigarh Police cricket team enters CII-Yi Corporate Sports League semi-finals

Chandigarh Police, Metro Motors, Chandigarh Citi Centre (CCC) and CII-Yi have qualified for the Semi-Finals of CII-Yi Corporate Sports League 2016. The Sports League is being organised by CII Yi Solan Chapter, in association with CCC. In the quarter final matches played at Barwala Cricket Stadium, Chandigarh Police defeated Team P&G by 103 runs paving the way to the semi-finals.

Team CCC began their campaign with a scintillating victory, thrashing Team ATS by 36 runs. ATS won the toss and elected to bowl first. Batting first, CCC scored 147 runs off eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs against ATS. Mayank was the top scorer with 31 runs off 14 balls while Amanjot chipped in with 26 runs off 32 balls. Team ATS scored 111 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Karan, Vijay and Mayank from CCC grabbed two wickets each setting the stage for their team’s victory, while Nishant scalped one wicket. From Team ATS, Govind and Rashpal grabbed two wickets each while Sandeep Sharma grabbed one wicket.

In another exciting match, CII-Yi defeated Team HDFC Limited by 142 runs to register victory in the tournament. CII-Yi won the toss and elected to bat. CII-Yi scored 234 runs at the loss of two wickets in the allotted 20 overs, with Ravi Verma topping the score chart scoring 126 runs off 58 balls, including 12 fours, and eight sixes. Ravi was followed by Munish at 62 runs off 34 balls. Nitin of HDFC took two wickets. Batting second, HDFC batsmen struggled to settle down and were bundled out for 92 runs in 20 overs. Nishant from CII-Yi took three wickets, while Vishal and Samrat took two wickets each while Pankaj grabbed one wicket.

The team Metro Motors defeated Team CGH by three wickets.
