Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday asked Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and BJP to immediately tender apology from Sikh Community for misleading people on the demolition at historic Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib at Chandni Chowk in New Delhi on Wednesday
“BJP controlled North-Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD) was involved in the demolition at Gurudwara and AAP has no role in it, as being misinformed and alleged by SAD-BJP to flare up communal tension”, AAP leaders Sanjay Singh, Punjab Convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur and Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann stated in a joint statement.
“It is a deliberate attempt by SAD-BJP to flare up communal tension by misleading the people, who are wise enough to understand the game plan of these parties”, they added.
“Certain section of Punjab based media is trying to project this demolition as handiwork of AAP, which is completely incorrect and far from reality”, AAP leaders said announcing that AAP would file defamation case against this Punjab based newspaper, which is trying to rake up the communal tension by reporting the issue without verifying the fact, with a deliberate motive to mislead people.
SAD-BJP is trying to flare up the issue to ignite communal tension because of the forthcoming assembly polls in Punjab early next year, AAP leaders alleged.
It is pertinent to mention here that on Wednesday the Piao (drinking water booth) of Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib in the heart of Chandni Chowk was forcefully demolished with bulldozers by BJP controlled MCD with the support of Delhi Police.
The Piao served as a water drinking area for lakhs of people visiting the religious place of worship of the Sikhs.
